How small businesses use Claude Duet

Small businesses use Claude Duet as an always-on assistant. It watches your business apps, tells you what needs you and does the prep work. The most common jobs, from Anthropic’s launch post and product page:

• Finding missed messages in your inbox and Slack.
• Chasing unpaid invoices and drafting payment reminders.
• Preparing payroll for your review.
• Drafting job posts that go live only after you approve.
• Getting contracts ready to send for signature.
• Building dashboards, forecasts and decks from your data.

Claude Duet with QuickBooks and Stripe

Claude Duet connects to both Intuit QuickBooks and Stripe. Together, they cover most of the money side of a small business.

• With Stripe, Duet can check for unpaid invoices and draft friendly payment reminders.
• With QuickBooks, it can pull numbers for your accounts, reports and forecasts.

When Duet gives you a figure, it says where it came from, so you can check it. Note that Duet’s Stripe connector is separate from Link, the Stripe wallet it uses to make purchases.

Claude Duet with Gusto payroll

Claude Duet connects to Gusto and can prepare payroll for your review. Anthropic lists payroll prep as one of Duet’s core jobs.

Duet does the prep. You check and approve. Duet is also barred from moving money between accounts, even with your approval.

Claude Duet with Shopify

Claude Duet works with Shopify in two ways today, with more coming:

• It can check out at online stores that use Shop Pay, with your approval.
• Anthropic says a richer visual storefront editor for Shopify is “coming soon”. It isn’t available yet.

Claude Duet with Gmail and Slack

Gmail and Slack are where Duet often helps first. It reads your inbox and channels, finds what you missed and drafts follow-ups.

• Gmail: Duet can find missed messages, draft replies and send emails from your account, after you approve.
• Slack: Duet connects to Slack, but Anthropic’s help article says it works with limits for now.
• Calendars: It also works with Google Calendar and Calendly, so it can spot clashes and help schedule.

Real Claude Duet examples

Anthropic shared stories from early users in its launch post:

• A real estate broker. Jess Provencher, owner of Pro Homes, says Duet caught a property showing set for the wrong day on her calendar. She calls it “exactly the kind of thing I want caught without having to ask.”
• A restaurant group. Amin Ebrahimi owns Shahs of Kabob, with about 110 employees. He uses Duet for accounting, customer support and marketing. “It brings it all together,” he says.
• A brand strategist. Mya Dalton says Duet flagged a call that fell right before her flight and offered to move it. “I love that proactivity.”
