Where these facts come from

Claude Duet facts come from Anthropic’s official pages. Meta Muse and OpenAI Dots facts come from launch coverage, so we mark key details as “reported”. Check each company’s site before you decide.

Claude Duet vs Meta Muse: which is better?

For work, Claude Duet. For personal life, Meta Muse.

Claude Duet is built for professionals and small business owners. It connects to business tools like QuickBooks, Stripe and Gusto. It asks before it sends, pays, signs or deletes. Anthropic is open that personal errands, like booking tickets, aren’t its strength yet.

Meta Muse is a personal AI agent. Launch coverage says it can book things, fill in forms and buy for you. You can reach it in its own app, on the web or inside WhatsApp. It rolled out in the US first, to people 18 and over.

Price is the other big difference. Muse has a free tier, with paid tiers reported at $20 and $100 a month. Claude Duet has no free option: you need a Claude Pro or Max plan. See Claude Duet pricing.

Claude Duet suits you if…

  • You want help with invoices, payroll, email and contracts
  • You care about approvals before any payment or message
  • You already pay for Claude Pro or Max
  • You are in the US

Meta Muse suits you if…

  • You mostly want help with personal tasks and errands
  • You want to start free
  • You already live in WhatsApp
  • You are 18 or over and in a supported country

Claude Duet vs OpenAI Dots

OpenAI Dots are always-on agents that live inside ChatGPT. OpenAI announced them at its DevDay event in late September 2026. Like Duet, each Dot has its own cloud computer and browser.

Here’s how they differ:

  • Where it lives. Duet is its own app. Dots are part of ChatGPT.
  • Who can get it. Duet is for US Pro and Max users, by waitlist. Dots are for ChatGPT Pro and Business Premium subscribers. The Pro rollout excludes the EEA, the UK and Switzerland.
  • Controls. Duet always asks before sending, paying, signing or deleting. With Dots, you set rules to allow, ask first or block actions.
  • Apps. Duet works with 6,000+ connectors and plugins. Dots reportedly reach 4,000+ apps through OpenAI’s plugins.

If you already pay for ChatGPT Pro, Dots may be the easier start. If you already pay for Claude, Duet is.

Duet vs Muse for small business

Claude Duet is the stronger small business tool today. Anthropic designed it for small business owners and gave it business connectors from day one: QuickBooks, Stripe, Gusto, HubSpot, Docusign and Shopify, plus a small business plugin.

Meta has a version of Muse for small businesses that connects to other apps, according to TechCrunch. Fewer details about it have been published so far.

For real examples, see Claude Duet for small business. For the full list of what Duet can do, see Claude Duet features.

Best Claude Duet alternatives

If you can’t get Duet yet, or it isn’t the right fit, these are the main alternatives:

  1. Claude Cowork. Anthropic’s agent for multi-step work in your files. It’s on more plans, including Team and Enterprise. Compare them in Claude Duet vs Cowork.
  2. OpenAI Dots. Best if your team already runs on ChatGPT.
  3. Meta Muse. Best for personal tasks, with a free tier.
  4. Claude Tag. Claude inside your team’s Slack, for Team and Enterprise plans.

TechCrunch also names newer personal agents, such as Instinct and Hark. They’re worth watching, but there’s less official detail on them so far.
